Hard letters. Switched off letters are not in the draw.

How to play

History

Letters will show here.

How to use

  1. Hard letters like Q, X and Z start switched off. Tap a letter to turn it on or off.
  2. Turn on Each letter once to use every letter before any repeats.
  3. Press Spin and read the letter out loud.
  4. Start your timer and play.

When to use it

  • Stop (Petit Bac)

Everyone writes the same categories, like animal, city, food and name. Spin a letter. Each player fills every category with a word starting with that letter. The first to finish shouts Stop and everyone puts their pen down. Unique answers score 10, shared ones 5.

  • Name, Place, Animal, Thing

The classic four column version for long trips and quiet classrooms. Spin, then race to fill one word per column.

  • In class

Pick a starting letter for vocabulary practice, spelling warm ups or a quick brainstorm.

How it stays fair

Each letter left on the wheel has the same chance. Hard letters you switch off are taken out before the draw, not just hidden. With Each letter once on, letters already drawn wait until the round is over. See how it works

Questions

Which letters are left out by default?

Q, X and Z, because few everyday words start with them. You can turn them back on, or also leave out letters like J, K, V or Y.

Are all letters equally likely?

Yes. Every letter still on the wheel has the same chance. The wheel does not follow how common letters are in English.

Can I avoid the same letter twice?

Turn on Each letter once. Every letter comes up once before the round starts over.
